Sweat it out! Regulation of body temperature via active ventilation

Swout® is an innovative ventilation shirt designed to provide the wearer with a comfortable and even body climate. It can be worn under all kinds of clothing which tend to keep body heat trapped close to the skin.

First a thermal analysis of the human body was carried out to determine which areas produce enormous amounts of heat and perspiration. Special air ducts were then developed to draw this heat away from the body. The result is a minimum use of energy to achieve maximum cooling. The medicinal aspect of this type of clothing was also taken into consideration, making sure that the wearer does not experience any unpleasant air currents. This means that the kidneys are in no danger of being chilled. The air that is blown into the system is neither dried nor cooled down. The Swout® system simply encourages evaporation so that the body can carry out its natural function of cooling itself via the evaporation of perspiration. Swout® can be worn under all types of clothing, is easy to use and weighs under 500gr. The function of Swout® is enhanced by the wearing of our hydrophilic underwear BLÜCHER SYSTEMS® Xystec®. The following results of the EMPA perspiration tests carried out (00448037 and 0448491) confirm the cooling properties of Swout®. A multifunctional protective system with integrated breathable membrane was tested (see legend). The test compared a system with Swout® with a normal system, under varying climatic conditions.
