Flame retardant knitted fabrics
Aramid fibers are aromatic polyamides whose crystalline parts and stretched molecule chains lead to a high temperature resistance.
BLÜCHER SYSTEMS® Hydro protects against flames according to EN 532 with code A, B2, C1, and according to ISO 6941. This means that the material does not drip, melt or continue to burn.
The manikin was dressed and tested with two different underwear. On top of the underwear a battle dress uniform made of Polyester / cotton was placed. By means of 12 burners, a fire flash was simulated. Sensors determined the heat at the skin as well as the grade of the burnings.
In the film it is shown that BLÜCHER SYSTEMS® Hydro leads to minor burnings in comparison to standard cotton underwear.
The pictures taken after the test show that the cotton underwear is vastly burned while BLÜCHER SYSTEMS® Hydro is hardly damaged and relatively still in one piece.
